In Russia

A couple days ago we had another student lose a baby tooth! When a student in our class loses a baby tooth they choose a place on the map and we read in a book what children in that part of the world do when they lose a baby tooth.

This student chose Russia. Take a look at what children in Russia do when they lose a baby tooth.

Dinosaur Fossils in Dirt?

Yesterday we started a craft where the students drew a dinosaur skeleton on a piece of paper. They drew large dinosaur fossils. Then, they covered their drawing in white glue and stuck spaghetti on their paper (to make the fossils look real).

Today we had amazing parent helpers come in to guide us in the "dirt" part of our craft.

The Kinders put glue on their paper and then dumped coffee grounds on the glue to make it look like their fossil is in dirt.

Take a look! This is the AM class:

Thank you, parent helpers, for your help today! We appreciate you!

Dinosaur Landscape

Today we had two university students join us again. They have been coming to our Kindergarten classroom every Tuesday afternoon since the middle of March and have two more weeks with us!

One of the university students, Ms. B., planned a dinosaur lesson to teach us (even though they don't have to teach a lesson). The university students are in their first year and come to schools to observe. Our class is very lucky that Ms. B planned us a lesson!

She started off by reading us a Magic School Bus dinosaur book!! The Kinders were very interested and asked many questions.

Then, she showed us her sample of the art activity we would be doing. Ms. B's example she made is really good!! Take a look:

This is Ms. B's sample project. Wow!

Thank you for taking the time to teach the Kinders!
